It really is amazing to me how the Lord provides and blesses those who are willing to give Him everything. The semi-final financial statements came in during our meeting on Tuesday and I saw that I had already raised $1500, which far exceeded my expectations, and was willing to pay the rest with the money I had saved working at Starbucks. This, of course, would take a significant portion out of my savings, but I was willing to give it to the Lord as He had called me on this trip.
Last night, I received an email from Asbury's mission fund and learned that the school was going to contribute about $400 towards my trip! What a blessing and testimony of how the Lord provides! The trip will still not be free for me, but this is definitely going to relieve some of the financial strain that I could be feeling.
THANK YOU for being a part of the Lord's great provision for this trip!
In our meeting on Tuesday, we had a "mini-Christmas" as we received luggage tags, t-shirts, and important paperwork. The trip is beginning to feel real to me now. At the conclusion of the meeting, we made different balloon animals - I made a dog, rabbit and a sword. While we don't have an hour-by-hour itenerary for our time in Argentina, I am confident that the Lord will provide work for us to do, especially since we are leaving ourselves available to follow his leading.
I think it is appropriate that next week is Student Revival week at Asbury. It will be a great time to focus on Christ before we leave and to get our priorities straight.
Prayer Requests:
That our team will stay safe and healthy this week as we prepare to leave
That the Lord will be warming up the hearts of the people in Mendoza to receive the Word
That the Lord will continue to provide everything we need for this trip - physically, mentally, emotionally, financially, spiritually.
